The Historic Eastside begins on the east side of Paseo de Peralta and runs up into the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. On the north, it is bordered by the Santa Fe River and on the south by Old Pecos Trail. Canyon Road is the heart of the Eastside with art galleries and adobe houses that were prototype for “Santa Fe Style”. Small roads, many of them dirt, meander off Canyon Road. Homes vary from the simplest of structures to the swankiest of estates. In the mountains above St. John’s College, for example, is Wilderness Gate with 5+ acre view lots and large, elegant homes.
