Los Alamos is the #1 home for US millionaires

Interesting news today that Los Alamos is the #1 home for millionaires.  A story in Kiplinger pegs Los Alamos as the town with the highest concentration of millionaires in the US.  With its excellent school system, relatively affordable home prices and of course a steady high-tech employer, Los Alamos is certainly an attractive place for the uber-rich to live discreetly and without fuss.  Here’s Latest Homes and Real Estate Market report on Los Alamos, NM

But no Nordstroms?  Or even Whole Foods?  Luckily they’ve got Santa Fe….

New rules for lead-based paint

As of this month, renovations to homes built before 1978 that might disturb lead-based paint can only be done by certified contractors. This is a BFD, as Joe Biden might say! Attached is the consumer brochure explaining the new rules – please read it before starting renovations.

Colorful Santa Fe a worthy destination

Another great Santa Fe story, this time from the Coloradoan.

"The desert at sunrise and sunset is all dressed up in vibrant colors and makes you want to celebrate the day. The blue tortilla enchiladas from one of my favorite restaurants, The Shed, make my mouth water thinking about the unique combination of spices and cheeses. The art galleries on Canyon Row are filled with the most diverse and awe-inspiring pieces of art. I wonder in an out of the different galleries and gawk at the sculptures, water colors, oils and glass and shake my head in utter amazement.
….Over the years, my daughters, sister, niece and mom have made summer treks to Santa Fe. This multi-generational girl trip has spun vivid memories for each of us. We have made this journey in the summer to take advantage of the Indian Market and famous Santa Fe Opera, but Santa Fe can be enjoyed any time of the year…."
