More and more I’m getting asked about condos for sale in Santa Fe. They have that great feature that vacation home owners love – lock ‘em and leave ‘em. They also have a certain value and costs that are fairly predictable if the homeowners’ association is doing a reasonable job. All of these features also appeal to people considering moving to Santa Fe full time. Of course location is also important, and even though Santa Fe is a relatively small town, you still want to consider your surroundings and what conveniences you want to be close to when buying a condo in Santa Fe.
Condos at Fort Marcy, for example, are well located for a brisk walk downtown but have the added benefit of being near to an excellent city-owned pool & fitness facility. On the other hand Quail Run condos are prized for their on-site golf course and restaurant. For architectural interest, the Zocalo condos attract attention – they are also ideally located for Opera-lovers, Taos & Los Alamos commuters and fishermen (ask me…)
Luckily Santa Fe has avoided the excesses of condo-building, mainly because it is surrounded by Native American and Federal land, so sprawl is not an option. We have condos from $100,000 up (the sweet spot, I’d say, is $220k – $350k). We have HOA fees from less than $200/month to over $500/month. So read the small print!

I have some favorites, of course. I like Zocalo, if you can get a unit far away from the freeway.
And I like the units in South Capitol on East Santa Fe Avenue – they’re in a craftsman style and they’re ideally located for downtown. So you have many choices of Condo in Santa Fe – that surprises many people, who think we’re all adobe all the time.
