Berts Burger Bowl

Bert's Burger Bowl, on Guadalupe, is still my favorite downtown green chile cheeseburger spot.  Watch for the early closing, though!  This is a great little clip from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives that showcased the place.

BGK Properties Gets New Owners

BGK Properties, one of Santa Fe’s hidden powerhouses, got new owners last week, according to a story in the New Mexican. It’s one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the US, and a strong Santa Fe employer, with 52 people here, and more in Albuquerque. Looks like they’re going to stay here, which is great!

Interesting side note – one reason the new owners gave for staying in Santa Fe was the new American Airlines daily flights from Dallas (DFW) to Santa Fe Airport.  Good to hear that it’s not only tourists but businesspeople that feel this was a worthwhile addition to the attractions of Santa Fe.

FoF

Announcing the Friends of Frank discount: connect me with somebody who buys a home in Santa Fe within 60 days of the introduction and I’ll give 5% of my commission to the charity of your choice (which could be you). No strings, no small print. You do it for me, I’ll write the check for you. On a $500k property that could be $750 – not bad for an exchange of emails, eh?

New rules for lead-based paint

As of this month, renovations to homes built before 1978 that might disturb lead-based paint can only be done by certified contractors. This is a BFD, as Joe Biden might say! Attached is the consumer brochure explaining the new rules – please read it before starting renovations.

Colorful Santa Fe a worthy destination

Another great Santa Fe story, this time from the Coloradoan.

"The desert at sunrise and sunset is all dressed up in vibrant colors and makes you want to celebrate the day. The blue tortilla enchiladas from one of my favorite restaurants, The Shed, make my mouth water thinking about the unique combination of spices and cheeses. The art galleries on Canyon Row are filled with the most diverse and awe-inspiring pieces of art. I wonder in an out of the different galleries and gawk at the sculptures, water colors, oils and glass and shake my head in utter amazement.
….Over the years, my daughters, sister, niece and mom have made summer treks to Santa Fe. This multi-generational girl trip has spun vivid memories for each of us. We have made this journey in the summer to take advantage of the Indian Market and famous Santa Fe Opera, but Santa Fe can be enjoyed any time of the year…."
